YAYAYAYAY! I love this new website almost as much as I love Sweeney Todd right about now!!! So I sat and watched the second act tonight. I laughed, I cried, I got the chills, we have a pretty amazing show in our hands and boy am I proud to be a part of it. I honestly cannot wait to see and hear the audience’s reaction. Speaking of audience, we need one!! Please tell all your friends, family, teachers, anyone you ever met in your entire life. The show is looking amazing, we will be adding tech this weekend, and (I think) we have 10 piece orchestra (crazy I know), so all thats left is an audience. Really in the end after all the hard work, they are the ones we want to walk out thinking it was worth their money. We have a large group of alumni coming, so lets show them what we are made of! I would like to thank everyone for all their hard work these past five weeks, to the cast, to Larry and Jay, Frannie and Chris, the entire board, and everyone who had anything to do with this show. We are almost there, get excitedddddd!! I posted some pics, enjoy them! I love you all and I am so happy and proud to be the president of this club.

To any of the Mimes who would like to help out next weekend, we will have plenty for you to do (tickets, bake sale, etc.) We would love for as many people to be involved, let me know!!

Love

Gina

Anything

September 26th, 2008 by

Hey Kids!

Well, another year has started! Everyone is working so hard on Anything Goes and our set is pretty freaking sweet ( I mean it’s a boat!). The mimes are trying their hands, or feet rather, at tapping. All in all, it is a VERY interesting experience. I do have to say that we don’t sound too bad either. We open on the 16th and everyone should come out and see it, unless you are in it and then you should just be on stage.
On a sadder note, [title of show] is closing in October! This news is so sad for all of us. Larry was such an amazing musical director for Sweeney and what other cast/creators of a Broadway show would take the time out to come see us in Sweeney?!?!?! However, there is still hope. The [title of show] blog has announced that they (along with the help of their fans) are going to try to save it! And, it really should be saved. [title of show] is such an extremely innovative show with a lot of heart that, legit, changes lives. Please check out their blog : http://www.titleofshow.com/blog/index.php There, our fav friends are giving instructions as to how we can help. For instance, Sarah already got a word to participate in their special video. You can also sign petitions for the Ellen Show and write to other tv shows demanding they bring the cast on. I know there is no rehearsal on Saturday, so the Mimes can join [title of show] in handing out flyers all around the theatre district. Do what you can guys. I know we are all busy, but these are our peeps, too! (I know I said “peeps”) Umm… I also don’t care if you want Larry back for Company.

Okay that’s it!

Love ya!

Can I actually call myself a blogger if i only do this once? hmm, just something to ponder.
anywho, So to whoever actually reads this: que pasa? Its now the middle of July and we picked our next season of shows during the spring. They are:
Anything Goes, Don’t Drink the Water, Company, and The Glass Menagerie.
I know we are all looking forward to a great year with a strong season! We also are looking forward to getting some new talent in the next freshman class… but not TOO good… kidding, kidding. We will reconvene for the next semester on September 1st. So until then, aufedersein!! –>

Opening

Wow! What an amazing show to be a part of. The Laramie Project is so moving and intense. Still, I don’t think it really hit me until Opening Night when the audience became another character to our show. They added so much to the feeling of the show and I just wanted to thank everyone who came out last night to see it!!!
It’s also so great to have such a small cast, seeing as we have become like this twisted little family…and no, Laramie probably should NOT be a musical. haha I actually cannot even believe how we even got through last night as seamlessly as we did with all the constant tech changes up to the last minute, but I guess that is the way we roll! Frannie + crew are kind of CramAAzing!
I am so proud to be part of such an important piece and I hope more people will still come tonight, Saturday, and Sunday!!!!!

Hey everyone,

So we just got an e-mail from our musical director Larry Pressgrove and good news [title of show] has a date. It will begin previews on July 5th and open July 17th at the Lyceum Theatre. We are definitely going to have a Mimes trip to support Larry and go see it. He is going to keep us updated and let us know about available student tickets. So congrats to Larry and the rest of the [title of show] cast. The music is a lot of fun, I just downloaded the CD. Its worth it and I can’t wait to see the show!! Here is some more info about the opening and show

So…we hired a director for The Laramie Project…YAY!

Her name is Kate and she seems wonderful-both from an acting standpoint and as a woman who gets the importance of the piece we’re doing.

I’m super excited to be working with PRIDE on this show-we got some great ideas going from the meeting last night, and I really think that we will do a great job at presenting this really difficult and emotional piece in a beautiful and appropriate way.

Have a wonderful spring break everyone, and thanks to everyone who was involved in and came to see Sweeney-the show was awesome, and I love all of you!!!

Loves,
